world,
you are not big, i will circumnavigate you
i will sail your largest oceans clear across
then find a way to swim the distance
shrink you, i shall find a way!

world,
don't try to fascinate me with
your bottomless oceans
your neverending plains
your soaring mountains
your exaggerated skies
let me say, i know they're trinkets
in comparison...
no better than ME
they must end somewhere
everything does,
right?

world,
you know there are planets out there
bigger and better than you are?
they spin faster than you
they have better traits than gravity
more impressive stunts than hurricanes and and tornadoes and earthquakes and tsunamis
but they don't have us, world
no body has it as good as you
you have us

world,
look at those stars
even from afar
they shine brighter than you
can you not smile as nicely
for the rest of the universe to see?
if only i had a better planet to live on
you never do anything for me
all you do is go on your power trips
and try to drag me down
keep me here with you
i won't!
let me off this selfish earth.
